Executive Assistant, LAFCo

Summary

This position will support the administrative operations of the Lending for African Farming Company (LAFCo), a fund management vehicle that is managed by Root Capital, as well as the administrative needs of Root's Chief Operating Officer (COO). LAFCo-related responsibilities entail coordination among Root Capital personnel, LAFCo's external credit committee, LAFCo's Board, and external shareholders. Additional responsibilities include overseeing meeting logistics, managing meeting materials, and overseeing general governance administration of LAFCo. 

Support for the COO will include: managing the COO's calendar, planning travel, processing expenses, and managing logistics for external professional commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Board and Shareholder meeting scheduling, logistics, compilation of materials, agenda coordination, internal minutes
  • Credit Committee scheduling and compilation of materials for Credit Committee
  • LAFCo expense transactions, in coordination with credit admin and accounting
  • Manage COO's calendar, travel, and expenses
  • Manage COO's external professional commitments

 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of professional work experience required
  • High levels of attention to detail, time management, and organization, an ability to work independently, and willingness to take initiative required
  • Experience working in an office/administrative capacity preferred but not required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office (primarily Word, Excel and Powerpoint) desired
  • Knowledge of and experience with Google services (primarily Google Calendar, Google Drive) desired
