Rick Peyser currently serves as Lutheran World Relief‘s Senior Relationship Manager, Coffee & Cocoa. He recently retired from Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR), where he was the Director of Social Advocacy and Supply Chain Community Outreach. At GMCR, where he worked for 27 years, Rick led a team that works to improve the quality of life for coffee producers and their families in their supply chain communities. He is a past President of the Specialty Coffee Association of America (the world’s largest coffee trade association), served 6 years on the Fair Trade Labeling Organizations International (FLO) Board, and currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Coffee Kids and Fundacion Ixil. Rick co-founded and now sits on the board of Food 4 Farmers, a nonprofit to help Latin American coffee communities address the problem of chronic seasonal hunger.
